Toppling
The game of topple is a game of balance, where you constantly stack one piece on top of another, filling the tower with an abundance of colors, openly hoping your opponent will place the piece that causes the tower to crumble to the ground, so you can be crowned champion.
Daily life can also be filled with colors: the colors of commitments, to dos, wants, loves, desires, solitudes, friendships, and families. How often in life do we stack these commitments, to dos, wants, and desires on top of each other, vying to see how many we can pile on top of each other, secretly hoping the next person in line will add the commitment causing their life to crumble and ours to be crowned victorious?
Life is bigger than vying for success; fearfully hoping we are not the one to add the piece that causes life to crumble. By God’s grace, we don’t need to live in fear, but instead can choose to trust that His foundation is strong and His arms are always open. We can hand over our commitments and wants to Him, so His love and desire can shine through in all we do.
Choose to not stack and stack and stack one thing on top of another trying to win the game, to oust the competition. Instead choose to throw the game; letting each piece fall off the tower, knowing that they will be caught and embraced by Him. Choose to topple head first into His arms, trusting Him to bring glory to His world through us.
