Word Became Flesh
Christmas is the day our God, who placed His fingerprint on ALL creation, came to earth in flesh and blood with a fingerprint all His own. I wonder if Mary stood awestruck, tracing Jesus' fingers, as she tucked them into swaddling cloths. I wonder if she sat amazed, holding the Son of God in the presence of shepherds and wise men, as she pondered all God had spoken to her through the angel Gabriel a few months earlier.
Treasuring the Truth His Word never fails.
He promised to send His Son and His Son He did send!
Treasuring the Truth His Word became flesh.
No longer a cloud hovering above, Christ became present on earth. His baby skin was The Light in darkness that opened heaven’s door to everyone forevermore!
Treasuring this Truth in the presence of others.
Men who would spread the message of Christ’s birth with the world. Men who stood present around a manger to let Mary know she was not dreaming this moment. Christ is real. God is True. She gave birth to The King who would gift the world everlasting life!
As we celebrate Christmas may we treasure:
The Truth His Word never fails.
As we close out a year with so many unexpected moments, may we get to ponder on the good our Father has gifted us. May we be awestruck by the Truth of God’s Word as we wake up Christmas morning in the midst of His creation.
The Truth His Word became flesh.
In the flesh, Jesus opened the doors of heaven to us. As we open presents, may we be a reflection of who Christ is in our flesh. May the blemishes on our sin covered skin be made new baby smooth so our friends and family can see Christ’s perfection through us as we celebrate His birth together…whether that is under a tree together, over video chats, or in Spirit.
Our time in the presence of others.
May our time with friends and family be a gift where we are awestruck with the Truth Christ is real. He is The Light shining in darkness and we are His children. As God's children, may we celebrate this together! May those who are not yet God’s children be filled with the Holy Spirit as they gather with us. May we all be confident Jesus is not a dream. He is real. His promise is True. His gift is life everlasting!
