failure to success

The road to failure leads to success.  This brick road leads to the site of the 2nd of 7 debates that took place between Stephen A Douglas and Abraham Lincoln as they were running in the 1858 US Senate race.   It was a race Lincoln eventually lost to Douglas, but losing afforded him with the availability to run for President in 1861.  Winning here led to successes, including the Emancipation Proclamation. This man's walk to failure was this man's walk to success.
